Additional Title: Caltrans Earthquake History of Don Gregory
Series Title: Loma Prieta Oral History Project
Description: In the wake of the October 17, 1989 Loma Prieta Earthquake, Caltrans commissioned an oral history project to document the personal and professional experiences of Caltrans employees who worked to restore the State's damaged transportation system.
At the time of the Loma Prieta Earthquake Don Gregory was Maintenance Supervisor at the Caltrans Napa Maintenance Yard. His crew was asked to do maintenance work on the damaged San Francisco Oakland Bay Bridge. His oral history is a description of the work his crew did on that bridge. It's important to California History because it is an eyewitness account of bridge repair done on San Francisco Bay Bridge and these interviews are often not preserved in official accounts.
